This tool provides accurate calculations of initial great circle routes and distances between specified waypoints. It supports straightforward waypoint input using standard FMC formats such as 5040N, H5040, N50W040, and N5030.0W04000.0, facilitating seamless data entry for operational planning.

Calculations are performed considering the WGS-84 ellipsoid, employing the Vincenty formula to ensure high precision in tracking metrics. The display can be configured to show either true or magnetic track angles, utilizing the MAGVAR2015 variation tables for enhanced navigational accuracy.

The integrated worldwide airport database enables efficient computation of routes and distances between airports, streamlining flight planning processes. Additionally, users can store custom waypoints, which may require initial setup over a few long night flights to populate oceanic boundary points for NATTrack overlays.

Waypoint plotting is available on a globe chart interface, where airports and range circles are also visually represented, providing comprehensive situational awareness and planning support.
